Iran Launches Largest Solar Energy Project

Largest Solar Energy Project is going to be inaugurated in Kerman Province as Iran’s Electrical Distribution Company Director-General Homayoun Haeri said.

He said that this project is to produce clean electricity in Iran. By the end of this current Iranian year, Iran will be able to produce twice more energy sources. The official went on to say that the new electricity power plant is aimed at producing electricity based on DG technology. Distributed Generation (DG) is electricity generation that occurs at or near the point of use.

DG Clean Power offerings focus on the use of solar renewable energy, provide electric generation options in transmission congested areas, improve energy supply options, reduce energy costs through development of cogeneration or on-site generation facilities, boost power reliability, avoid damage to equipment and products and help reduce energy consumption.

Solar energy refers primarily to the use of solar radiation for practical ends. However, all renewable energies derive their energy from the sun. Solar technologies are broadly characterized as either passive solar or active solar depending on the way they capture, convert and distribute solar energy. Active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic panels and solar thermal collectors to harness the energy. Passive solar techniques include orienting a building to the Sun, selecting materials with favorable thermal mass or light dispersing properties, and designing spaces that naturally circulate air.
