Iran’s Abbasali Wins Asian Gold Medal

Iranian female karateka  Hamideh Abbasali  won the gold medal of the Asian Karate Championships.

Abbasali beat the other finalist of the plus 68 kilogram class from Taiwan 1-nil in the final match.

The 13th edition of the Asian Karate Championships began on Friday in Japan’s Yokohama City with 285 athletes from 33 countries.

Iran’s women and men Karate National Team are attending the 13th AKF Senior Championships in Yokohama of Japan, September 3-7.

The Iranian national karate team is participating in all fields of the Yokohama Asian Karate Championships with 14 men and 11 women athletes in Individual and Team Kata and Individual and Team Kumite.

Iranian male and female teams will are headed by Gholamreza Dabaghian and Fariba Bodaghi, respectively.

Head of Iranian Karate Federation Alireza Samandar, a candidate for Asian Karatedo Federation (AKF) board of directors, is also accompanying the team in Japan.

Members of the presiding board of the AKF will were elected on Thursday, September 3, during the Asian Karate Championship in Yokohama, Japan.
