Israel’s prime minister has recorded a message to the people of Iran, claiming “we are your friend, not your enemy.”

In the video uploaded to his Facebook page Saturday, Benjamin Netanyahu has addressed the people of Iran in English, with Farsi subtitles.

Netanyahu has said he will soon discuss with President Donald Trump how to counter the threat of an Iranian regime, but that he distinguishes between the regime and the people.

“You have a proud history. You have a rich culture. Tragically, you are shackled by a theocratic tyranny,” he claims.

The message comes just 24-hours after US President Donald Trump spoke in his inaugural address about the need to eradicate what he called ‘radical Islamic terrorism’.

This was the first video of this sort Netanyahu has put out in months, after putting out several in the spring and summer that addressed issues such as Palestinian incitement and the settlements. It is also the first time in a while that he has exclusively addressed the Iranian issue, other than in a  couple of sentences in public appearances here and there.

The release of the video now, just 24-hours after Trump took over from Barack Obama, is an obvious effort aimed at placing the Iranian issue back on the international agenda.

While Netanyahu said he will speak to Trump about Iran soon, no announcement has yet been made about when their first meeting will be held, though there have been recent reports it could be as early as the first week in February. Government officials said that the issue will be determined in the coming days.

Trump has often assailed the nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the United States and other world powers during the Obama administration, calling it “one of the worst deals ever made.”

Israel, and Netanyahu in particular, also denounced the deal, which allowed for the lifting of sanctions against Iran in return for curbs on Tehran’s nuclear program.

Netanyahu hopes to convince Trump to take a tougher stance on Iran, aides to the leader told Bloomberg after the US election in November.

According to i24new, a senior Israeli official reportedly has said that Netanyahu had already convened with national security advisors and begun to formulate a plan.

While the goal may stop short of killing the multilateral nuclear deal, Netanyahu is expected to tell Trump that the US needs to take a harder line against Iran’s nuclear program and lead a more concerted global effort to keep the Islamic Republic’s regional aspirations in check, a senior Israeli official said.

“The urgent task is to stop Iran from becoming a superpower in the region, something that has been occurring for some time now,” said retired Major General Yaakov Amidror, Netanyahu’s former national security adviser.

This comes as Israeli intelligence agencies, according to Haaretz news, have warned Netanyahu against pushing Trump to undo Iran deal.

Netanyahu regularly criticized the policies of former U.S. President Barrack Obama. A day after the United States abstained from a UN Security Council resolution calling on Israel to stop building settlements in the West Bank, the Israeli prime minister called the move a “shameful anti-Israel ambush.”

On January 21, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said on his Twitter account that he had sent a letter of congratulations to Trump upon his inauguration, calling him a “longstanding friend,” and invited him to Jerusalem.

This is the war between the top one percent in USA, The Elite (the top one percent in USA), and the people of The United States of America. The people of United States, this time, decided to go against the selection process by electing someone who may not want the power and money as much since he is already on the top, but someone who may change the whole landscape in America. It is true that Donald Trump is part of the Elite, but his affiliation maybe shifted since he was elected by mad US people. The people hope he changes the whole direction of the country that was in the favor of the Elite, from mass Medias all the way to Wall Street. The people want to put the power in the hands of the people. The Elite wants to prove it otherwise that President Trump is not worthy of commander in chief in USA.
Mr. Netanyahu is no exception. He truly is part of the said Elite, no doubts about it. He knows that the power in US is shifting in a different path. He knows that US can no longer feed his Yankee’s type invasions against poor Palestinians. He knows that free money will no longer come from USA anymore. So going against Iran would not be in his best interest since Iran, soon, will become a regional power in its immediate areas due to power shift in the world.
Cut the money to Israel, two-State solution will become reality.
Time will let us find out.
