Adopting the motto of “See Iran Differently”, the 10th Tehran International Tourism Exhibit opened its doors to the public on Monday.
The expo, scheduled for February 6-9, is being attended by more than 60 companies from 21 countries along with 400 companies from Iran.
According to Iranian media, last year 13 countries attended the exhibition, but this year the number increased to 21.
The participants are from Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Georgia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Russia, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, Cyprus, India, Cambodia, Maldives, Macedonia, Yemen, China, Brazil and Lebanon.
65 companies from those countries are showcasing their potentials in the tourism industry.
Iran has hammered out an investment package worth $25 billion to revitalize its tourism industry.
In September, Deputy of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) Morteza Rahmani Movahed said over 16 million foreign tourists have visited the country over the past three and a half years bringing in revenues of $25 billion to the country.
With a large number of attractive natural and historical sites, Iran is one of the most touristic countries in the world.
Visitor numbers have soared since Iran and the P5+1 group reached a nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), on July 14, 2015.
