Sixth World Soil Carpet Unveiled in Hormoz Island

Iranian artists have designed the sixth world soil carpet with different colorful soil in Hormoz Island in the Persian Gulf, southern Iran.

The unique art of soil, which is the island’s sixth soil carpet, was unveiled on February 20, 2015.

The soil carpet, measuring 2000 square meters, was created by provincial artists using different colors of natural soil of the Island. Around 20 artists participated in creating this land art.

The carpet is made of 10 individual pieces that each fragment contains a message from the traditions and legends of the island.

The soil carpet resembles a turtle and 18 colored soils with different colors are used for it.

As part of Hormozgan province, Hormoz Island is located in the Strait of Hormuz, 5 miles off the Iranian coast.

The soil in Hormoz Island Mountains has different colors and every year art groups create soil carpets with natural materials on the coast of the island.
