Who is Sardar Azmoun – the ‘Iranian Messi’?

Arsenal look set to battle it out with AC Milan this summer for the signature of Rubin Kazan striker Sardar Azmoun – who has been dubbed the ‘Iranian Messi’.

The promising 19-year-old has made a big impression since joining Rubin from Iranian giants Sepahan in January 2013, scoring three goals in 10 appearances for the struggling Russian side.

His displays have not gone unnoticed either with some of Europe’s biggest clubs now weighing up summer offers with a £2million fee mooted.
